Roger was GM at 10gen, the company behind MongoDB. He met Bertrand while working at Apple where he ran the PowerSchool division. Before that Roger worked 13 years at Oracle, where he led development and engineering teams pioneering heterogeneous distributed technologies for the Database and Application Server division. Roger earned a degree in Computer Science from Saxion HogeSchool Enschede.
Bertrand was SVP of Software Engineering at Apple. He oversaw every release of OS X through Snow Leopard and initiated the project that became iOS. He personally developed many of the technologies that form the basis of Cocoa and CocoaTouch. Bertrand joined Apple through the acquisition of NeXT where he worked on NeXTSTEP and OpenStep. Earlier in his career he worked at France's INRIA and Xerox PARC. Bertrand holds a doctorate in Computer Science from the University of Orsay, France.
Alex worked with Roger at 10gen to grow developer adoption and partnerships for MongoDB. Prior to that he founded Kazeon, a developer of content aware storage appliances, which was acquired by EMC. Earlier in his career Alex directed product management at Broadcom and led sales at MMC Networks. Alex holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Chris spent 15 years at Apple where he led product marketing for every release of OS X. Before that he managed Apple's NetBoot Server product and the early versions of Mac OS X Server. Chris holds two bachelor of science degrees from the University of Maryland.
Since joining KPCB in 1980 John and his partners have backed some of the world‘s most successful entrepreneurs including Larry Page, Sergey Brin, and Eric Schmidt of Google; Jeff Bezos of Amazon.com, Scott Cook and Bill Campbell of Intuit; and Mark Pincus of Zynga. John‘s passion is helping entrepreneurs create the ”Next Big Thing“ in mobile and social networks, greentech innovation, education, and economic development. John serves on boards in the areas of Internet technologies and greentech.
